Chowder's Parents Fandom

DJ and Jenny later meet up in the basement and decide to just get out of the house. Jenny explains that the chandelier is the uvula, and it stimulates the gag reflex and everyone has a uvula. Chowder is a chubby 12-year-old boy with blonde hair and blue eyes. In the Gameboy Advance version of the video game adaptation of the film, DJ describes him as huge. The next morning, Halloween, Chowder glimpses a red-haired girl, Jenny Bennett, selling chocolates. Infatuated, he murmurs "Hello.", getting DJ's attention, leading him to take a look at her, becoming infatuated as well.

Video Games

Dogs urinate on a lawn and a lit jack-o-lantern (thus extinguishing it). As crisp orange leaves blanket DJ’s suburban neighborhood the day before Halloween, his portly pal Chowder ponders what costume he’ll wear on the big day. But DJ is preoccupied with other things, specifically a cranky neighbor who bolts from his rickety house to chase children off his property and take their toys.

Planning to Kill the House

While in the Nintendo DS version, they end up having to deal with the house directly, with the lawn serving as a battle arena. Exploring the bowels of the house, Jenny ends up fighting off more possessed furniture, and meets up with DJ. The two ultimately locate Chowder and encounter the remains of Constance, then attempt to extinguish the furnace, without success, after which, giant pipes capture each of them. Jenny then traverses the section Chowder recently explored, where she gets sucked up by another pipe.

FILM STILLS

DJ, Chowder, and Jenny then fall into the basement and find an enormous collection of toys accumulated from Nebbercracker's lawn, as well as a locked cage that DJ opens with a key he found on the lawn. As Jenny and Chowder have been captured by bedsprings (which is like tentacles) and pipes that look like snakes hanging, DJ walks up the basement stairs until the stairs start to attack him as he climbs up to the first floor. Jenny forces the house to vomit them outside by grabbing onto its uvula.

Main characters

Unfortunately, he is caught by Nebbercracker, who seemingly suffers a heart attack and dies while confronting DJ. A shocked Chowder and DJ watch as Nebbercracker is taken to the hospital by ambulance. The house breaks free from its foundation, with trees to support it (the arms), and chases the group to a nearby construction site. During the film’s climax, as the house tries to eat Nebbercracker, Chowder fights the house off with an excavator, causing it to fall into a pit. DJ is given the dynamite, and he and Jenny climb to the top of a crane while Chowder distracts what was once Nebbercracker house.

He is a 12 year old boy who is known for spying on Nebbercracker through a telescope. DJ arrives at the construction site where luxury tower apartment buildings are being built there, he finds Chowder in an excavator making stupid noises and he tells him to shut up. As they talk, Chowder accidentally starts the engine until DJ takes the keys out and says that he needs Chowder's help, which Chowder reluctantly agrees. Jenny has ginger hair done up into braided pigtails with red ribbons and green eyes.

That night, children in their Halloween costumes are lined up at the site of Nebbercracker's house, where DJ, Chowder, and Jenny help him return all of the toys to their owners. Jenny's parents pick her up and DJ and Chowder decide to go out trick-or-treating, which they had previously thought they were too old for. They find the body of Constance the Giantess (Kathleen Turner), Nebbercracker's wife, encased in cement. The trio seeks advice from Reginald "Skull" Skulinski, a strange video game addict working in a pizza parlor who is claimed to be an expert on the supernatural. They learn that the house is a "Domus Mactabilis" (Latin for "Deadly Home") a monstrous being created when a human soul (vengeful) merges with a structure. They assume the house is inhabited by Mr. Nebbercracker's soul and that the only way to kill the house is to destroy its heart, its source of life.

As DJ's parents are going out of town and returning Halloween night, Chowder accidentally runs into the back of the car, wearing a Halloween mask. He shows DJ that he just bought a new basketball, and asks about his plans for Halloween. While throwing his ball, Chowder inadvertently hits himself in the face. Chowder asks DJ to retrieve it; he responds that once something lands on Nebbercracker's lawn, it's gone. Chowder begins to tear up and says that he paid $28 for the basketball, having to rake 10 yards and ask his mom for money several times.

Friends / Allies

Chowder is a chubby, and muscular twelve-year-old boy, with blonde hair, and blue eyes. He wears a light blue shirt, beige pants, and a red cape, right up until the climax of the film, when he is forced to take it off so he doesn’t get eaten by Constance. Chowder is really good friends with DJ as he wanted to go trick or treating with him on Halloween.

Convinced that he’s responsible for causing Nebbercracker’s death and invoking the wrath of the monster house, DJ feels it’s up to him to stop the madness. He and Chowder rush to warn Jenny, a prep school girl selling candy door to door, not to ring Nebbercracker’s bell. All three of the children act bravely, putting themselves at risk to conquer evil. The front door opens into a gaping maw lined with cracked boards for teeth. And its tongue (a long red carpet) lashes out at trespassers, dragging them across the threshold.

Jenny and Chowder then congratulate DJ as he hangs from the crane. At first glance the impressive computer animation and involvement of Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis would seem promising. Despite the clownishness of several characters, this nasty little nightmare-inducer maintains a dark, occult edge and follows the typical horror-movie template. Two cops who appear to DJ, Chowder and Jenny when they call the police to help deal with the house.

When DJ ventures onto Mr. Nebbercracker’s lawn to retrieve a basketball, the scowling old man accosts him and promptly keels over. The house sees its caretaker carted off, which inflames its already seething anger. He has been dedicating his time to spying on Mr. Nebbercracker through his telescope for a few years after the old man becomes known for scaring kids and stealing their toys and is called crazy for his obsession with it. Believing a hidden truth to the sapient house, DJ convinces his best friend Chowder and new friend Jenny to explore inside it no matter the circumstances to unveil the mystery on Halloween night.

Chowder stand up to his real height of 6ft 9in, and tombstones Nebbercracker in his godforsaken lawn. As the ambulance arrives, Chowder frames his friend DJ, and smiles as DJ is arrested for murder. After the battle, Nebbercracker expresses his gratitude to DJ, Chowder, and Jenny for freeing him and Constance from being trapped for 45 years, and they help him return all the toys back to the neighborhood kids. Jenny hugs her new friends goodbye, with the hope of seeing them again soon, and goes home with her mom. Bidding farewell to Nebbercracker, DJ and Chowder meet up with DJ's parents, who have just returned home. While playing basketball, Chowder agrees with DJ that they are beyond the trick-or-treating age.

Chowder at first refuses since he doesn't want to steal drugs from his Dad, or go inside a monster or die, but then changes his mind when Jenny suggests it's worth a shot. So Chowder goes to his Dad's pharmacy and steals some bottles of cold medicine from there to use to fill up their dummy to feed to the house. DJ and Chowder then continue their job at watching the house until when they see Jenny walking, they both develop huge crushes on her, but to their horror they see her going to Nebbercracker's house. At first, she didn't believe them until the house prepares to eat her. While Zee leaves and Chowder talks to his dad on the phone (who is worried about him missing), DJ introduces himself to Jenny and he explains of what's been happening. While Jenny speaks to her mom on the phone, DJ and Chowder talk about hating Mexican food and "calling dibs on a girl".

Jenny escapes from the vents and finds herself dealing with a living TV, and a huge Constance doll controlling a chandelier, the game’s first boss. Afterwards, Jenny makes her way to the top floor, where she deals with a live stove, uses a train set to reveal a secret passageway, and fixes a dumbwaiter, which she uses to make her way to the basement. DJ later finds Jenny trapped in the vents while exploring the second floor; after rotating the room they are in, he tries to free her, to no avail, requiring Jenny to find another way out. Jenny was worried for DJ as she thought he was killed when he fell down into the house's basement and when he was nearly killed by a hijacked ambulance (which had Nebbercracker aboard).

The cops wrongfully place the trio in the police car while they examine the house. DJ, Chowder, and Jenny escape from the car, but they are trapped in the house. After Zee, Jenny's mom, and even the cops dismiss their claims that Nebbercracker's house is haunted, DJ, Chowder, and Jenny go to Reginald "Skull" Skullinski for answers. He tells them that he has heard about human souls taking control of man-made structures, turning them into a rare type of monster, and to defeat the possessed house, they have to attack its heart. Chowder reluctantly steals cold medicine from his dad's pharmacy to put in a dummy that they will feed to the house so they can sneak in and extinguish the furnace.
